Wow i am sure some rich collector will snap it up because of low mileage what was the cost of labour alone ? Like all restoration to this level would you get you money back ? its got to be a labour of love (wish i had the cash)
 
Thing is as far as I can tell from the listing the only component that is low miles is the odometer. Everything else seems to have been replaced or heavily repaired. Engine and gearbox requiring full rebuild after only 17,000 is unusual unless they were stored outside and out of the vehicle. It is undoubtedly a very nice recreation of an early S2. I only wish I had the skill/patience to produce body and paint to that standard.
 
Yes great job high standard most likely stood for a while people still like low mileage restored or unrestored TY
 
Maybe done 17k in a quarry?

Anyway now off to buy a litre of DBG to paint my 59 with!

It looks nice but that is an awful lot of money for a Series 2 Land Rover. It would have to be flawless attention to detail for that. Some nut and bolt restorations are better than others. I wonder if they've used correct nuts, bolts, washers etc, and not metric (or worse) stainless.

The mileage isn't worth anything unless backed up by detailed provenance - it could have done a million miles by now.

Although, as I say, 20th century stuff isn't being made any more and people want it, so it's going up in price.

At that price and that "mileage" I'd expect original cleaned up and re-used as they would have been un-touched if info is correct...
