97 300tdi, ignition barrel been playing up for a while now, you have to jiggle the key once its into release thebsteering lock and start the engine, so going to get a new, seen new ignition barrel, steering lock and 2 new keys on fleabay, is this all I would need, would I need new locks for doors n boot n fuel cap, would this change affect the immobiliser, currently have 1 big key, a smaller key and a working 2 button fob.
thanks for any help

I changed mine 2 weeks ago, previous owner snapped the key. Easy to do, two bolts on the column and 2 plugs one brown one white. You will need to keep the key for doors and fuel cap. However you can still you use fob for the doors. The immobiliser uses the black plastic ring around the key barrel, it slips off.
I found a new set of keys for all doors/barrel and it worked out at £500
