My current insurer can only cover me comprehensive(for a fee) for Europe, I'm heading to Montenegro and Turkey where they will only cover me for 3rd party.

I don't want to leave my insurer for the sake a week or two out of a 6-week trip.

Has anyone found themselves in this situation and how did they get around it.

Or do I just take the risk and drive extremely carefully, hope I don't catch fire and never leave my vehicles side.

I would not risk 3rd party only, Land rovers are stolen at a blink of an eye in that part of the world.

I do not have any experience of those countries, but when I went to Morocco my insurance would not cover it, and and i do not know if it would have even been seen as valid by the country if it had. You had to buy country specific insurance once you arrived. It may be worth looking at some of the overlanding sites?

You can get special insurance and they will do it for a week or month etc. so short term. Once you cross into regions where your current insurer will not cover you the specialist covers you.
