Hi guys,

The end of the story is that I was banned from doing any welding, metal cutting or other activities in the garage I'm renting witch could cause fire hazard.
Bla, bla, bla... health and safety bla,bla,bla...
Decision of the landlord.
I was fuming :mad::mad::mad:

I live in Woking Surrey.
I'm looking for place somewhere around Woking to rent working space with access to electricity for few days a month. Big enough for a Disco1
I'm bit desperate so just a space under the roof will do me. Till late summer.

Any ideas guys???

Thanx
Kristof

Had you been renting the garage for a period before this stipulation was made?
Was there an agreement in writing or verbal that said this at the time you began renting?
The landlord could also now tell you that you can only work on your car in fluffy slippers and a mankini but it wouldn't make it legal or enforceable

It's more complicated situation I'm afraid.
Flat and a garage I rent is in hands of retired railway personnel home/businesses. Sort of care home.
They own land and all the rest. It's private.
They told me that they are not insured for this sort of activities.
As well I work for the railways. And this **** could spread if I'll kick it. Garage is a bargain looking at local renting market.
Other thing is that I never sign garage renting agreement. It sort of gentlemen agreement.

I thought it may be more complicated ( normally is:( ). The tenancy agreement my landlord quotes( which is new and not what I signed) says "no extensive work to be carried out on vehicles " and as any ambiguities favour the weaker party I question the meaning of extensive to which they pull a pained expression and go away:)

They always look at the case from the most drastic point of view.
Garage + Disco + Polish amateur mechanic +near by care home = WWII fire storm:flame2::flame2::flame2:.
Objective is to do it good but not expensive.

Just an update.
Found a garage :) - from the council.
Sorted electricity - from 3.5kW generator:D
Did some work:

Glad you found somewhere to work in the end. That's some pretty ambitious bodywork you're doing there.
