as in wont turn over or wont fire as in needs pump bleedingI changed all the oils/filters today in my 109 and after a test drive it won't restart
It won't even turn overas in wont turn over or wont fire as in needs pump bleeding
Ok thanks I know battery is ok and I'll check the starter tomorrow. It just seems odd after six weeks of not being used it started first time this morning.check battery is well charged ,leads to starter have a good tight connection ,starters well earthed a jump lead can be used for that ie from starter to neg post on battery
could be a poor connection on pos or neg or poor solenoid contacts or knackered starter, if you put a jump lead on the lower solenoid terminal below were battery lead is secured ,and touch other end on pos battery terminal and starter turns its a solenoid issueOk thanks I know battery is ok and I'll check the starter tomorrow. affirmative. starter solenoid is a big relay, using a small current to switch on a big current.Would that prevent starting??
The series repair manual insists on gaffer tape round the split. You have done it all wrong.I've changed the whole engine loom today and it started up straight away!!
That would be a serious short. Smelly burning n that.If the insulation was gone all the way from the alternator to the solenoid, has it melted off?
