Right guys I went out to the D3 earlier and it wouldn't start. Wouldn't do nothing. Doors kept clunking like there were constantly unlocking and hazards flashing. Radio and sat nav screen would come on for couple of seconds then go off. And HDC message came up.

Am I right in thinking it's the dreaded instument cluster failure?

Personally would start with the battery, plus ensuring the battery terminals and leads are clean

Need to ensure with the engine off its reading around 12.6vdc , if not plse give it an overnight charge

Hope that gives u a place to start from

Right I went out to it this morning and it started twice first time. Then on the third time it done the same thing. Put a meter across and the battery was reading 12.2v.

It still won't start even would a boost pack on it would that make a difference?

Hope the previous and this information is useful to u, without being rude plse and thk u goes along way

Indeed should see a min of around 12.6 Vdc , these are very power hungry vehicles and batteries need to be in tip top condition

Plus it’s not just the min voltage but the cranking voltage

If the battery is 5+ years old it may be time for another one

Best to pop down to Halfords etc where they can do a full test on the battery but it starting twice and third time failing sounds like the battery hasn’t got enough power in it or is knackered

There may be other underlying issues but Battery needs to be 100% first and foremost
