Freelander won't start and the symbol of the orange coil on dash has disappeared any one help??

To little info' for anyone to help. What engine? petrol/diesel? year?

Orange coil suggests a diesel, is that correct?

To get help it really does pay to pop into the Introduction section and introduce yourself to us. Most on here are fairly friendly and will respond to questions if they can. It's an old fashioned courtesy I know, but it is a good one.

My apologies for the pop up its my first time posting on here. Its a 2004 plate diesel and I've got to try this morning and the coil symbol is back but still won't start ?

Won't start.....

Won't turn over?
Won't fire?

This is fairly crucial info and will aid a potential diagnosis.

The post suggest a novice diesel vehicle owner :)

A location area may help as well, the weather being variable around our fair isles

your orange coil on the dash is probably the heater plugs what you do is turn ignition on wait for that light to go and then turn the ignition more and it should fire up, how many miles has it on the clock

and the symbol of the orange coil on dash has disappeared

note about glow-plug relay attached (as .jpg)

Does the orange (glow plug) lamp turn off after between 1 and 10 seconds when the ignition is turned on, prior to going to the position that would normally spin the engine ?
