Hello all,

I am a new boy, despite looking at Landyzone on a regular basis over the past year. I'm stuck.... and really need some help. I should have joined ages ago.

I own a 1966 S11a SWB. It has had a engine conversion to 2.5TD (19J). It's battered, hardworking and used everyday.

About 5 weeks ago, after warming the glow plugs I pushed the starter button..... nothing happened but a single 'click' from the starter. Tried again and it started. The problem became more frequent until last week it refused to start. Keeps clicking (once).

I thought it was the starter on the way out... so got hold of another one (re-conditioned) before she refused to start. Replaced the starter......

Now when I push the glow plug warming buttton there is a loud buzzing from behind the bulkhead. It is the relay (one of 2). When I push the start button I still only get a click from the starter.

The wiring all around the landy is shabby. The buzzing relay itself looks like it will need changing soon anyway.... the protective casing is starting to come loose from the relay base. It has probably been like this for some time.

However... starter replaced... still doesn't start and the relay buzzes like mad. Lights, indicators, wiper work fine. Can anyone please help me out there? Thankyou!

make shure all the wires are tight and clean on the starter and no lose wire hangin .its not the best spot to get too.

Legends! Thankyou. I'll get amongst it the moment I get home 2moro. I'll let you know I get along.
