Hi guys,

Rangerover got an EAS fault, it's dropped to its lowest setting and now won't move! Is this normal? Anyone any ideas?

Cheers

Mark

I almost fell over backwards with the amazing level of detail you have gone into with your post, unfortunately my crystal ball is in the shop for polishing so we will all need a bit more info to work on....:D:D:D

Car won't move or EAS??

Diagnostics is first step , obviously, to find out why the thing has dropped to the bumps...

Do you have the four lamps lit and 35mph warning on dash??

No it's not normal look at the "How to" section and check operation of compressor and other parts of system as laid out there.

Yes, all lights lit and speed warning on dash. After parking up it goes into gear but won't move? Got me beat?

How long has it been parked up?? Could it be the transmission brake shoes have rusted to the brake drum?? or the pads rusted to the discs??

Could it be the parking pall in the gearbox not releasing the parking brake disc??

Does it engage a gear..i.e. you can feel it take up the drive?? or does it just rev freely??

Do the checks as per the how to on the EAS system and get some form of diagnostics once you have done the basics!

Just spoken to a p38 specialist, seems to think its a EAS that has caused a problem with the electrics on the transfer box and that's why I have no drive!

Highly unlikely as the two systems on the P38 are totally separate...

On the L322, the systems both talk on the CANbus and although the TB would log a fault on the CAN, it wouldn't cause the thing to be stuck dead...

I think he is looking at your wallet rather than the fault!....but I stand ready to be corrected and amazed at this new phenomenon....

All sorted, all faults cleared and back on the road, my wallet not that badly beaten either :)
So what was the problem...not posting the solution renders the point of the forum useless as it help no one!
