Drove to and from Cardiff the other day in my DHSE, hot day, temperature fine, cruise control at 70mph most of the way, suspension up and down nominally, drove through the heaviest rain I've ever seen, no problems, CD player filling the car, air con set to 16°C, parked in a multistory carpark, started several times no probs, and of course - an extremely comfy journey :)

To any thinking of a purchase, I mended 4 simple things on my own, and now it's just a perfect car - I love her.

I've had mine for 6 years now, rebuilt the motor this spring but only because it had 200,000 miles and I wanted peace of mind. Replaced EAS with coils, and a new headlight assembly. Inherited from my father, owned since new. No issues. Still looks sharp with a wash.

I managed a week of driving around Devon/Cornwall three runs up and down Porlock hill - including the 1 in 4 out of Lynmouth a few weeks back, 90mph all the way back on the M5/M4 (late for an appointment - not a glitch, 1,000 miles in under a week - and not a drop of coolant lost plus about a quarter of a dipstick (range between Min and Max) worth of oil. Bloody things eh!? :D

Admittedly, worry about the hilly terrain did pre-empt a precautionary change of brake accumulator as I don't know how old it is. What a simple job - 5 mins start to finish! My cuppa didn't even have time to cool!

Just an update: just come back from my holiday in Cornwall: 966 miles of motorways, traffic, all EAS settings, both transfer boxes, cruising, bumpy roads, sport mode and all the electrics; didn't miss a beat :)
Thanks to everyone who helped me get it to that stage!

You've just made your own grave. Something massive will go wrong now.
