As i intend putting wolf wheels on my 90, i have been told they are not suitable as they are for later defenders with rear disc brakes.

Any comments on this folks, i am also looking for a set of wolf wheels with or without tyres.

The only problem is the thickness of the wheel, the studs aren't long enough to allow the bolts to do up properly, that said I've had them on my SIII SWB for a year and on a 1984 110 for 3 years before that, I just gorilla'd  the wheel nuts on tight and hoped for the best:eek:, so far no problems:D.

if you want to do a proper job I'm pretty sure you can buy the longer studs to go though the thingy on the end of the axle that holds the studs.

They just arrived today :D :D and a set of smaller 235/85/16 general grabber AT2's just got to paint the wheels sand to match the 90. Will post photos soon. ;)

My Army surplus 1986 110 was fitted with wolf wheels sometime before its discharge. It has a notice on the top of the dashboard warning not to mix the wolf wheels with conventional wheels. It went through its first MOT with no problems last month even though the wheel studs appear short.

The MOD specified an increased torque to account for the nut not fully threading onto the original studs. Mine has passed 2 MOTs with no issues. There is still a fair bit of nut on the stud anyway, although mine being an N/A I probably don't put as much force thru wheels as a tdi.
