Converting station wagon to canvas and need a rear step. The folding ones look sh1te and want something better The S3 double sided step looks like it would be under the tailgate when its down which makes them useless.

The folding ones would be under the tailgate too. I think you will have to carry a caravan step or have a special one fabricated.

Sorry, just read your thread title properly. I'm not familiar with the wolf Mantec step so I withdraw my comment. Caravan step would be cheaper though.

I need to check the holes at the rear to see if it would fit. I recall using a U shaped step with tailgates when I was in the RAF in the early 90's. Only one I could find:

For £100 I think they could be fabricated pretty easily (not by me though) as its just a few straight sections welded together.
What have others done with a tailgate?

I'm currently trying to come up with a step that folds out with the tailgate. Plan is you drop the tailgate then a folding step that is attached to the tailgate will err mmmm fold out....
