heard it said a few times,out of the various 4x4,s the army used not much could keep up with a wolf,so what was done to the 300 tdi to make it faster?
Google is my friend, lol. I believed they were standard.
"When the Wolf was designed the engine in the civilian Defenders was the Td5. Land Rover preferred the 300Tdi for the Wolf because the electronics in the Td5 were more complex to manage in the field.
The 300Tdi on a Wolf uses a slightly different design of timing cover compared to the civilian version."
It's probably the fact that it's the only vehicle they haven't had to hold back on performance for reliability.
Main mods are in the chassis and body for load carrying and safety.
Standard turbo and standard intercooler....the Wimik have a double finned intercooler...engine wise almost identical to a civilian 300tdi
Wolf's have no belly plates fitted. The wimiks have the plates but not on the earlier versions and I doubt yu'll get one with a set of under armour plates at this stage of their life fur sale
