Had my black D3 keyed tuesday night from rear light to front light on a supermarket car park have been told this is becoming more common with land rovers during a conversation with rozzers anyone else had an issue? Have buffed and used black t cut with quite a good result so what now do I buy a car for if my D3 is left for long in public car parks?

We had a few incidents of eco warriors and tree huggers slashing tyres on 4x4’s and leaving printed notes admitting it but not heard of any being keyed. Sorry to hear it though.

As above, if eco warriors youd have been left a note otherwise its action without a point.

Normally they would be doing several as they despise cars in general. Reports of tyres slashed or wing mirrors. While scrawling or daubing baby killers at night by Tristan and Jemima groups during daylight.

Thinking about buying a car just for work as it sits in a car park until ten or eleven 3 nights a week also only 5 miles so landrover hardly warms up, nothing noticed on CCTV so I am informed, also looking at dash cams be aware every one

It's a shame you have to consider that, but at least a 1.1 hatchback you have no emotional connection to means you can rid yourself of the worry.

omg mate that’s terrible and bet ur heart sank when u saw it , shame u never seem to catch these so called ****ers

read that the most damaged cars are Tesla’s

I get fed up of these ecowarriors

Should target the 1.0l suvs that are so underpowered the engine needs to work harder to move compared to our 'baby killers'.

****ers. I hate dickless pieces sh1t mindlessly damaging someone else's vehicle. I had a back door keyed a couple of years ago. I'd have loved to catch them in the act, but sadly I didn't.

u saying that reminds me years ago when I was still living at home that my brothers and I had just finished restoring a dolomite sprint , we saved up over months and got it resprayed in cherry red and parked it down our shared drive

came indoors to show it off to our parents , the neighbour decided to key the brand new paintwork from front to back, police were called after my brother climbed through the rear door after he smashed the glass to give him a bloody good hiding , bloke was hiding in the bathroom

Christ knows what my brother would have done if he got hold of him, no charges were ever made , but as we each had a car we blocked his cars in at every opportunity for months , forcing him to catch public transport along with being late for work

Not surprised, the whole EV revolution doesn't make any sense - mining rare earth minerals one part of the planet, flown somewhere else to make batteries, those flown somewhere else for assembly. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Plus 1 , not forgetting all the emissions from the mining equipment, is such a shame seeing so many ICE vehicles being forced off the road with one scheme or another

see in the news today of EV drivers arguing over charging points,

think this will be there kind of fighting at the EV stations , lol

Hi all been buffed and polished rear quarter and wing buffed out ok doors need more work, in my job am seeing a real change of attitude more theft and violence toward staff no respect, my old D3 was dented where people bashed with a door several times will use landy but not on work nights

What a total piece of Sh1t thing to do.

many thks , we were seriously gutted and all because he didn’t like us parking in the shared driveway , knew his wife would wind him up along with telling him to do things to our cars

he really lost the plot every time we blocked him in, we must have done it at least 7-8 months , had even more fun when I bought a series 3 safari , he had a small parking area on the front of his house , they had 2 x cars and when he left one whilst going to work would drag his spare car up the road

wouldn’t get away with it now with all the cameras but made his life hell after that

his Name was Gordon and it sent him nuts when we would sing,” Gordon is a moron “ from the song, lol

whole side of the car needed to be re sprayed , after that he never marked any of our cars

oh and socks stuffed in the silencer were a great way of blowing a few joints on his exhaust , lol, he had an old cortina

Oh dear. Someone has been brainwashed by the fossil fuel lobbyists.
THERE ARE NO RARE EARTH MATERIALS IN AN EV BATTERY. Batteries can also be recycled.
The materials used to make batteries are also not flown anywhere, they are transported by boat, the same way any bulk materials are.

Lots of mines use electricity to drive the machinery, as it's cheaper than using diesel.
You are aware that any vehicle needs resources to make it, be it electric or ICE, and those materials all need extraction from the ground. Oil to make fuel also needs to come from the ground, and the process isn't efficient. For every 1 litre of fuel produced, the energy equivalent of 2 litres of fuel is consumed, so that 1 litre of fuel is effectively 3 litres worth of CO2 in the atmosphere, and then it's gone. You can't recycle fuel, but you can recycle a battery.
Cobalt that some EV batteries use is also used in the fuel industry, but newer batteries are being made that are Cobalt free, but the FF industry still uses it and can't stop.

You have to look at the bigger picture, not one tiny aspect. ;)

No RE elements in batteries in but are used in electric motors and other parts, though they are developing RE free motors.
Batteries are split into their individual cells which are repurposed when no longer viable for use in a car, but the cells can't yet be recycled routinely, it costs more to recycle than to mine new lithium
