Hi guys, ive been trying to sort out the wiring loom for my series 3 petrol.
The loom its self has been cut in several places, and im pretty sure im missing bits.
Now the question is, i understand that there are going to be thicker wires required for the ignition circuits compared to the lighting circuits.
What size should i get to replace the sections of the ignition/charging wiring, and what size should i get for the lighting.
Thanks guys

No idea on wire sizes - sorry

... but that sounds like a hideous job. By the time you've bought a rake of different wire colours (you will, won't you?!) and connectors etc .... and probably spent several days on it ... have you considered this?

190 quid.....you can get another series for that:eek::eek::eek:

Sure ... you can ... but it'll be another shed! It sounds like a good deal to me if you take into consideration what you'll spend in wire and time.

Where abouts are you Wilko? If you're anywhere near West Wales a chum of mine has just brought in a petrol S3 for breaking. PM me if interested.

Thinwall cable.
A high performance cable which as the name suggests has thinner insulation. It is multi-stranded copper cable which is insulated with thinner hard grade PVC which offers good resistance to abrasion and cut through. The cable also carries a higher load compared to the standard auto cable. Gives savings in weight and volume when used in large harnesses.
This cable is now original equipment on most new vehicles.
