Eurgh, fiddly electrics, how best to do it?

It's got a 12v power wire fused at 3A so common sense dictates to get a plug to shove it into cigarette lighter but I want the power for it hidden.
It's right next to the fuse box and I was told to use Scotchloks, but I remember someone saying (might've been on here) that they're the devil incarnate...

So how can I wire it in?

do it properly! Connect it direct to the batery, with the smallest fuses you can get away with in the live AND earth - CB's are best protected!

With this good new connection you will also get best signal quality etc, with least noise.

If you're putting the antenna on the roof then bolt it to a piece of sheet metal and earth that back to the battery as well.

i did what boydy1989 did, it worked ok, however what landowner said i didnt as my CB SWR'd in nicely with a rear body mount

remove the cover over your fusebox and find a good + source cut the wire in two and slip a heat shrink sleeve over one of the cut wires then solder the two back together also solder your power feed to the CB. when its cooled down slip the heat shrink sleeve well over the soldered joint and heat it up. this is a very good way of making 'hard' wired connections and if done correctly they will never give you any problems.
