If there was a fault with relay would this stop flashers working when you arm the alarm ??
or is there another relay on the alarm to activate flashers when arm/disarm ?
Well it’s a maybe, but the flasher relay can fail... that would show a lack of Indicators in normal use.
I would go for the black box security ECU, again that can fail as any ECU especially if original, unfortunately repair is by replacement of the black ECU

Your vehicles model year... diagnostics as such is unavailable.

Maybe completely wrong but that’s how it go’s in Forums, unless the an owner thats resolved a similar issue.

Thanks Flashers all work in other modes

Thanks again
is there a separate hazards relay (DF11 ) for alarm or is it same relay used for indicators ??
Nope just the one, remember that the diagram for the alarm so in an alarm condition it calling for the all indicators to flash. It no the same as the central locking indication.

Sent from my iPad on a train

I know i'm being a bit thick but from diagram i cant see when alarm activated it connects to flashers
Looking at normal indicators wiring diagram you can see how indicators get their feed from hazards switch or indicator switch

Then the black wire from the ECU gives the signal to the hazard switch, how it only gives three flashes on locking and the single flash on unlocking I don’t know, perhaps it’s as simple as time duration and the ECU gives that.

That was the only logical answer i came too but discounted it because a/ black wire is a earth b/ you don't normally use earth feed as a switch line
Surely indicators/hazard relay are already earthed permanently ??

The interior light switching has been known to, V8 fuel injectors do, could be more no doubt.
