Mines a 200tdi and that's got a white orange trace going to the ignition switch. I think I've read somewhere when I was looking up the wiring its for accessories.

LOL you have a steep learning hill to climb, Last week I was trying to wire a fog light on a 110, red with grey stipe and black came off the switch.
BUT it was a orange with white stripe wire that was live at the bulb.

Use a bit of logic and trace it out
I did trace it out through the bulkhead and along the loom and then i found the rnd of the wire not connected to owt? but wires were slightly melted hence my concern clever clogs

Yep found white with orange tracer from ignition to fusebox then there was a white with orange tracer coming out and going through the bulk head and wasnt connected to anything, but at the other side of fuse box i had a white and orange going to white and orange thinner wire than the one on ignition?reason fory concern is part of the wire coming out of the fuse box was melted?

Has anyone else had any dealings with white wire with orange tracer on a landrover defender? says on wiring diagram 1 wire is for air con if fitted one is for radio cassette but not sure about 3rd wire.
