what year is it?

did you wire the park switch up correctly? Did you fit the correct stalk?

its 1994 on a m'reg but a few td5 bits on it , parts looked identical to me as the ones i took off

What colour was the plug on the stalk? It should be black with a intermittent function on an M reg. If a td5 switch has been used it'll be white instead. If it's an old style switch I think it has a momentary position instead of intermittent.

Are you getting water down the back of the bulkhead when it rains? If so, check the delay relay hasn't got corroded terminals.

The stalk has a black connecter , & as for the park switch , will it work if the 3 wires are in the wrong place , the last one had suffered serious water ingress, all brown/carroded

I gotta be honest I dunno. I've never wired one up wrong to find out.
