wiper mechanism appears to have seized with a horrible clanking noise from drivers side behind dash! Is there an easy way to access the parts? The motor seems ok. The manual instructions look horrendous.I would be grateful for help .

I was told the only way to get to the wiper motors was to drop the dash. My wipers wont park properly but I am leaving it for a 'rainy day.

Not much help but yea a big job.....

Yours might just be the park switch LINKY Which is quite easily accessible via the passenger side of the dash. Not sure what vehicle you have. Other things do affect the park position though.

This does sound like the wheel box and you will have to drop the dash. It is a pain of a job, if you haven't done it before.
