hello everyone
looking for a bit help
the front wiper seems to be playing up
they sometimes stop mid wipe
when the wipers are on constant it seems ok
when the wipers are on intermittent they stop half way
all help appreciated:)

There's a park track inside the wiper motor.
It parks the wiper when you turn it off and when the intermittent wipe has moved it part way for single wipes.
This has probably gone wrong - may be fixable if you open up the motor and check out the contacts onto the tracks on the gear wheel?
Otherwise it's a change of motor.

Have you got a Haynes manual or downloaded a copy of Rave (google a link) it's free.
Look up 'wiper motor' and gauge the work involved for yourself.
I would say it's not too difficult a job but it's your call.
It's simpler than a lot of other things that go wrong on the FL - but what the hec if you like spannering rather than paying?

had to get my self a new front wiper motor
are they easy to fit ?
does anyone have a step by step guide

This has got to be the easiest car to change the wiper on.
First remove the wiper arms, think it's a 13mm nut that holds them on - you'll need to wiggle them a little once you've loosened off the nuts to "break" the taper lock.
Next, open the bonnet & pull off the rubber seal that runs along the bulkhead noting which way it comes off cause you'll need to push it back on the same way.
Now you need to lower the bonnet & release the middle parts of the large plastic bungs which hold the scuttle panels in place (some may break but you can use self tapper screws to refix the bungs later as long as you don't damage the bungs themselves.
Lift off the scuttle panels carefully as they are a little tricky to manoevre past the wings.
Finally If I can remember it's 3 or 4 10mm bolts which hold the motor & mechanism in place & don't forget to disconnect the electrical connector.
Reverse procedure for refitting.
All in all less than an hours work.

large plastic bungs which hold the scuttle panels in place
does anyone know the part number for these
broke 3 unfortunately and would like to replace them

Mine does this and it was probably caused by me being lazy to clear off all the snow and ice back in the winter. That will teach me...

yup - common fault. Always check the blades lift off the screen before starting injun.

another prob is to turn off injun with wipers working and forget when yu start up following morning
