The switch can be carefully removed from the wiper motor and taken apart. Mine was full of crap but has worked just fine for two years after I cleaned it up. I dont think the switches are that expensive if you need a new one.

I replaced mine.
Must have crossed the wires cause now the fast speed is on the slow and the slow speed on the fast.
La De Da, still works fine.

Thanks all. Removed switch, pulled it apart and cleaned. Still didn`t work so I`ll replace it. Cheap enough part.
Was fun removing wiper cover as I have factory air. As always a L/R challenge!

Gave the switch constant 12 volts, no different, still stops anywhere???
Wipers have 2 speeds and an intermittent function, which is no longer intermittent. That`s what made me think it is a relay problem. Anyway if someone has any better ideas I`ll have to live with it.

place your hand on the red relay(wiper),when you flick the intermittent on then off, you should feel the relay click after 4 or 5 seconds.

Gents (and or ladies).

Got the same problem on a 1988 90 - i.e. wipers don't park.

Found the part number for the switch (520160).

I was in there behind the dash the other day to fit a passenger-side speaker so saw the location of the wiper motor etc.

Had a look through Buster's most excellent guide. It's not obvious if you can remove/replace the park switch without removing the motor assembly.

Can you?

Yes you can replace the park switch without removing the motor, fitted mine today and it has fixed the parking issue and i have intermittent wipe back!

The park switch slides upwards off the motor

Top man. Thanks Mullen.

Part arrived in the post today so fingers crossed I can sort that out this weekend.
