Hello !

I know its summer and theres no real need for them yet (readies umbrella)

Had my 97 5 door 300tdi truck welded up at the weekend (pictures of the remains of a rear spring hanger) and for what ever reason both my rear Wiper and from front wipers (intermittent only) has ceased working,

Got a multi meter and the loom in the rear door is sound (powered up motor from a bypass cable) so guessing something has melted but I dont know where the loom goes thought the interior !

With the intermittent wipers I'm guessing a relay has gone west as the buzzer for the lights has also stopped working, where is this relay located ?

Any suggestions appreciated !

Cheers :)

On mine the front wipers caused a problem when a small lug in the switch stalk failed. New stalk solved problem. I also had an intermediate fauly on the rear but could never find a problem although it does seem that rear wiper doesnt work if drivers door open!!!!!

Wiper delays along with lights-on buzzer is controlled by the MFU on board processor and its relays, you may also find that your rear fog-lamps don't work either.

Check that you have plug the MFU back in correctly after it was removed for the welding .. U did remove it to protect electronics didn't u?
Relays are behind both the front kick panels.

That would be a no,

Battery was disconnected and removed from vehicle and terminals capped to prevent arcing,

Where is the MFU ?

Looks like a trip to the scrappy is in order !

MFUs are positioned on the rear of the internal fuse board, there's two types one is black the other is cream, they are not interchangeable.

iv never had to disconnect the mfu for welding and never had an issues, lucky??

as above, are all doors closed for the wipers to work? i thought i had an issue and it was because the door was open

Yeah all closed up, came to life this morning, raided a scrappy and got all the fuses i could get me grubby mits on, will try them at the weekend !
