Can you confirm I have a fault (apart from owing a Freelander :))

When the front wiper is turned off it stops were it was, I thought it should return to the bottom of the screen. To make it stay at the bottom you got to play the get it right game.

Any help appreciated or sarcastic comments to throw at the garage before I go collect the car also appreciated.

Cheers

Unless the ignition is turned off the wipers should park.

Do a search on here it'll be the position sensor.

The problem is your wiper motor. It sometimes can be repaired but I opted for an OEM replacement from Island 4x4. Cost me £40.

mine work on 1st and 2nd setting but only work when they want to on intermitent wipe if I put the car in reverse it will work the back wiper so the switch is working it must be something to do with the wiring between the wiper ecu and the wiper motor and no it is not the motor as I have tested 3 on the switch also tested the motor on another car and works fine i have had this problem for weeks now and it is bugging me just need a nice day to try and see what it is

:) If wipers stay where they are when switched off,it will be classed as an obstruction. Therefore it will meen an mot failure. They tried failing mine because i have a very small teddy (given to me by my wife) hanging from mirror and also classed that as an obstruction.Took the teddy out,car passed mot then i put teddy back.......sod em.....lol :)

there is a whole bunch of new items on the mot since January and more are going to be revised in April I was told by the mot inspector on Wednesday what used to be advisory is now a fail then he said the wishbones on my wifes car were getting thin!!!!!!! never heard of this one before he said they would need replacing in the near future I then took to a friend of mine who is a mot inspector and he said no problem with them so who can you believe
