with our summer well and truly underway, has anyone got a recommendation for some new wipers? i have Trico ones at the mo from wiperblades.co.uk but was thinking of some nice flat blade type?

any thoughts?

flat blades mean yu have to replace the complete wiper - normal blades can just have the rubbers replaced.

I stayed with the old type, no problems so far and a good discount for a trade card holder.

I got flat blades for the Defender but they only clear water on the down sweep and not the up for some reason?

Always use main dealer blades. This is my first Land Rover ive owned myself but with my Fords always found the main dealer supplied blades work the best for me.

Fitted full set of LR blades recently and seem to do exactly what I want, clear water and not make an annoying noise doing it :)

I went for mr wiper after buying main dealer ones for some time. £13 front when halfords are £20, so main dealer price was good. Ok to start wiv, but they are the type with a big arch, with 2 smaller arches inside to hold the blade. I found it was these arches that snapped, stopping the wiper blade from being pushed to the screen. Hence why I went to flat wipers after seeing people talk about them on ere. They're flat, so dun't av the arches. :)

I use Bosch ones and they have been good. I clean them and the screen once a month with vinegar. Stinks but it's a trick my grandad used during his time with the RAF. It scrubs all the **** off the blades and clears everything from the screen. Perfect wiping with no streaks.
