Hello.

I've bought a td5 1999 defender and been trying to fix the front washer jets.
The pump works fine but I think there's a blockage somewhere. There's 2 pipes coming from the washer bottle and I put a compressor through the bulkhead washer pipe and air came out of only one pipe. I then tried from both pipes from the washer bottle and air was only going through one pipe. (This confused me as the one way pipe I thought shouldn't let air go through at all.) Also wouldn't this mean that one nozzle of the washer should work if air is going through at least one of the pipes? (It didn't) I managed to clear a pipe as the compressor suddenly stormwater through the jet washer. Then when trying when connected it didn't work.

Has anyone got any diagrams of the pipes? As I can't see or get to the ones that go along the front wing.

Also am I right in thinking there's 2 pipes from the washer bottle because one feeds off towards the heater matrix?

Thanks for your help!
Rufio.

Haha i feel like a right Muppet. Of course the other pipe is for the back washers haha.

Yeah I did the whole pin bit. But it didn't work. I'll try again tomorrow.

The bottom of the washer bottle is probably caked up with lime scale or manky old screen wash residue. Put a hose pipe in the washer bottle and give it a blast for few minutes. All sorts of crap came out of mine.
