Windscreen rubber on my 1990 90 is in need of replacement

Am I mad to try it or is it best to bodge it with sealant after painting the landy?

Got any chips in the screen?... I did and Autoglass fitted a new rubber too for £50... some of the more creative even use this opportunity to upgrade to a heated screen?!

Screen perfect, wouldn't like to claim on insurance.

Just wondered if it was that bad of a job, I've put Mini rear windows and screens in without a problem but don't want to attempt it if its a pig of a job and I could end up breaking the screen:eek:

Done loads of mini windows in the past, but I managed to break the screen trying to take it out, even cutting the outer rubber off didn't help, it just was stuck in one place and cracked.

I think it is due to the screen being totally flat. The curved screens in minis etc have more strength in them. When the local windscreen guys came to fit my new one, they did say they break 50% of them, and it didn't look to easy.

I would pay TBH
