I am about to get my rangie resprayed, I know the windscreen is a bit past it's best with quite a few stone chips, I have a 2nd hand screen in good order. How difficult is it to change the screen?
I know I could do a search on this but I have another question in that its probable that the sprayer will want to take out the rear side fixed glass to do a thorough job, any ideas where I can source new rubbers for refitting? the old ones arn't too bad but it would make sense to put new back on.

Try Atkinson Bespoke Engineering for seals, not sure if their products are for all classic models or just 2 door.
Sorry, can't help you with the screen question.

Just had a look at their site, looks perfect, for 4 door which is just what I want. :)

Screen is the old fashioned soapy water and paracord method Plenty of soap to lube and gentle with the paracord
Thanks for that, I think we should give it a go. :)

Gave Atkinson eng a ring this morning as my mate (sprayer) thought if they were the right price it would be better to replace.
Good job I was sat down £299 + £60 delivery for a pair :eek::eek::eek::eek:
Needless to say we just loosened off the top screw fixings and eased the body panel away enough to paint the top edge of the panel so when it goes back there will be no masking lines showing. 10 minutes per side.:cool::cool:

Screens are so easy to break!
Did similar with the lower screen rubber, tucked the lower edge under the deck panel. The screen must have been replaced not too far back in its history as the rubber was quite flexible, so the decision was made to repair the stone chips and leave well enough alone.

Yeah I saw their price earlier on their webstore. :( I'm sure there was a guy on here a couple of years ago who made them and sold them for £70 a pair.

What colour are you spraying it?

I have a self demisting one to come out of a LSE which I would like to keep in one lump, may just leave it in the frame and cut the a pillars. Lol.

Right now thats a secret :rolleyes::rolleyes: I'm taking plenty of photo's which I shall post up on here when most of it is done, I need to spend some time afterwards fettling the bumpers so that will be done at a later date.
One things for sure, the colour will NOT please everyone, just bear in mind this is not being approached as an investment, it will I'm sure get it's money back when I'm gone, but then I won't care will I? :D:D:D

I am intrigued. :) I look forward to seeing the end result. I'm sure it'll look better than this one I saw on ebay years ago:

You could also get some frilly lace skirting to go along the bottom edging of the car and along the wheel arches. And then cap off the look with a pair of those fake testicles hanging from the tow ball. Make it really classy. :p
