I've got a very early 200TDI 90 (1990) which has the hinged windscreen, mine are knackered pitted and seized solid, can't be used. Can I use the later fixed hinge/bracket instead? They are massively cheaper, and I am not bothered about hinged screen.

Yeah i think they are a direct fit, mine has fixed brackets but theres still the little channel where the hinge its on the windscreen surround

Direct swap although there is also a plate that goes on the inside too....

I sold my hinged ones and got almost as much as a nice new set of fixed anodised ones cost.
