I had a bear of a time un-seizing mine, to the point where the welded tube on the bulkhead on the driver side tore apart.

I want to replace these bolts. I looked up the part number here, 346989 and ordered from Craddocks:

The parts that arrived are much too short.

Have I been sent the wrong thing? the packet has the correct part number printed on. Or is there some weird military varient of the bulkhead side that beefs up the hinge joint?

One's you have could be series 2/2a, which have different [better I recon] hinge system.

I think you’re original ones were non standard replacement's, on mine bolts don’t protrude from end and seem to be same as what you ordered

Yes, the bulkhead should have a tapped thread - those shouldered bolt in the plastic bag look right. There are different shouldered bolts depending on whether the bulkhead is metric or not, but, the general length of the shouldered bolt is about the same.

I had a similar issued with a new bulkhead that didn't come threaded.

You can buy coupling nuts, or threaded inserts that fit into the bulkhead and accept the thread from the bolt.

I bought some that had the same OD as the bulkhead and welded them in place.
