Just developed a strange electrical fault myself. Switched on the landy this morning to find the wipers working by themselves. Took out the relay and they stopped working on intermittent which I would imagine would be normal. When I use them now though they do not park and when I put the relay back in they go back to operating all the time. I have replaced the wiper motor a week ago and I checked the wiper switch and they are fine. Any solutions?

When you go back out to the Land Rover try removing the electrical connection from the washer bottle and see if the wipers stop ... sounds odd but I may be able to help if that is the case ;)

I take it I will put the relay back in and remove the washer connections?

Incidentally, when you fitted a new wiper motor did you also fit a new park switch? If not this problem is easily rectified :)

I have the same problem.

Changed the motor and park switch, but still hasn't fixed it. New wiper switch arriving tomorrow, but if that doesn't fix it, looks like I'm in for a bit of earth investigation.

Cheers for the link to the other thread Andy, was a good read and may come in useful.

No worries, hope it helps ... took me months to find it ;)

Just when I thought I had got it all sorted my problems have returned. I changed the wiper motor, the rail and got myself a new relay. Everything worked fine, the intermittent and the park all was good. Now driving home was going to use the wipers and just touched the wiper stalk and this set off the intermittent and it won't stop. I have had to take the relay out so that the wipers stop working. I can still use them but they wont park. Just wondered if I need a new wiper stalk?

Have you disconnected the washer bottle yet? I replaced my stalk before I found out it was an earth short
