ok see kits on ebay for repairing cable, but should i just replace the whole lot from scrap yard,? £20 for entire window kit from local scrappy, £35 with the same door lock i require.

thinking easier just to replace the whole lot at once?

thoughts peeps
 
They are fiddly to replace, so to use a kit is better for a first timer ... you can keep the other bits and see how they interact ...
A learning curve if you like ... save any bits for further fixes, even buying a new cable ... as when one goes the other side usually follows ..

Grease and lube the new cable and it's runs ... it'll last longer that way ... if you don't want to keep the leftover bits, punt them on here or take to a swap meet ...
 
its ok, a bit handy with the spanners, some jobs confident and some like to research the problems and difficulties. have done a window or two before, never a '' fun '' job, especialy having bought a feelander in the knowlege of there reknown reliability
 
although, having changed all the tyres and a drop link, this and door lock are only issues, if you don't count headlining needing fixes back nice and tight. lol

i got the repair cables but havent tackled them yet,it
looks pretty complicated according to youtube,ah well
theres always next year. :D.
 
i have watched one youtube one as well and thought it was a bit tricky, but if you rewind and watch a few times kinda seems easier, anyway, have done a couple of different owned cars before and think taking the entire kit out of scrap vehicle always a good way to figure out the removal without hurting your own car to much lol, even went over last week to figure out what bulbs were in the dash warning lights so i could order them off ebay, turns out landrover beat me to the idea and already installed led bulbs behind all the warning lights. only bulbs changeable are the larger version of w5w or t10 for dash clocks, and these i have changed to led. a nicer light behind them, white, no green covers fitted. will add pic later. the leds i fitted arn't the brightest so work well.

but my plan is the usual remove scrappy one, then take pics or vid as i do mine and reverse the procedure. always best to do both the scrap removal and replacement as soon quickly as poss so you remember lol
