had to change the drivers side front door o my 98 p38, used the regulator etc from my old door that was working fine before, now when i lift the glass it goes up on the skew, front edge down, any ideas please

Good idea to introduce yourself in the appropriate section (landyzone manners):welcome:
Take the door trim panel off and watch what it does. Sounds like you've not fitted it in the new door correctly.

I think the rubber guide has come off

Don't think that would give the problems you have, usually causes the window to rattle when partly open / opened. Sounds like something out of place on the regulator. I would pull the door card & check the other side to compare whats different

Could be one of the guides in the lower rail are not located properly - possibly the pin has come out. I took these when replacing my regulator - may be of some use?

Last one I saw that did that the regulator had broken.
