Off course but IMO the D2 was also not designed especially to carry animals every day all day or to let them in the vehicle over night ;) :D
Which I assume you are mentioning because we have to leave them overnight in the D2 when crossing the channel. Fortunately they love the vehicle and just sleep. As they do for the next two days it takes us to drive to our place. We always get pups very used to the car as soon as we get them.
They love it so much that when we are packing the car they bother us until we put their harnesses on and put them in.
And of course we never travel with them in hot weather.
The previous owners only ever used the vehicle to carry guns and their dogs to and from shoots.
I don't think any vehicle, except perhaps police dog handler's and RSPCA vans, are designed esepcially to carry animals. But D2s are comfortable for them, they can see us and hear us, we can feed them and give them water in there, so we have no qualms whatsoever about using our Discos to transport our dogs!:):):)

Seems very like a BCU fault at this point, unless the circuit between the switch and BCU on the up command is interrupted and to rule that out you must get to the BCU's plug C0660 pin 19 - BU(black/blue) wire like at the switch cos it's hardwired and give earth with a thin wire or needle in it from behind situ, if the motor doesnt react to that you need another BCU and that's complex cos you need programming with dedicated diagnostic tool but if the motor works that way then the wire coming from the switchs is interrupted somewhere. The connector's view is from the contacts side .

Ok so I put earth to the up AND down command wires before the BCU at CO660 and can get the motor to turn when I do it both ways but it still continues to only turn one direction(window down) regardless of which command wire I earth. Secondly i volt tested across the the SK and SU wires leaving the BCU just before the harness going into the door. I get a 10v reading when I press window down on the switch but nothing when I press window up. Safe to say ruled everything out except faulty BCU??
