Driver's window was not running smoothly at all and then dropped. On inspection the channel that holds it was rusted to buggery (and back again).

Ordered the new channel and rubber, but when i tried to fit it there was no way the glass was going into the channel with the new rubber (which seemed to be a lot thicker than the old). Even reusing the old rubber it was a definite "NO!".

Much agonising and colourful language later i did some internet digging and seemingly there was a shift from 5mm to 4mm glass. I suspect my windows were whatever was sitting around in the factory rather than what should have been used....

So - big pry bar and plastic hammer to open up the channel a bit. Window and old rubber straight in and window now working, so the cautionary tale is that it might not fit for a reason and a bit of manual persuasion seems to have no ill effects.

This may not work with ECUs or other sparky bits...
