Hi guys,

When I wind down the windows it makes a massive bang. Am I correct in assuming it needs realigning and if so is there a step by step guide to do it myself?

As above and "is there a step by step guide to do it myself" yes there is a workshop manual, and its called Rave which can be downloaded, if you didn't know.

It could well be that the regulator is on its way out or some bits have got bent, but it could just be that one or more of the six bolts holding the regulator into the door have loosened or dropped out (it has happened to me and yes, I started getting loud clunks and bangs). If some have dropped out then you should find them in the bottom of the door.
Either way, you're going to have to get the door card off to find out.

That is if the door bottoms, are still there.:D

Done this repaitr and it is a walk in the park. Remember you will need gaffer tape to hold up the window.

All done :) The challenge of doing it on street with a busy road was the only issue I had. Saved me £40 too

Did mine last Friday - it was my first actual successful fix for my Landy and it went well. Took an hour so bit to bad.
Remember to liberally apply grease (silicone preferably) to all the moving areas on the new regulator or you'll be changing it again soon and probably the motor too.
