Hi
Stripped the paint of my two 1980 door frames (hours & hours) and then the painter didn't shot blast the inside corners, get the acid etch coat all over and left bare metal under the lips in the seal area. You can scratch off the black with a finger nail.
Ashford Chroming promised to do a 7 day turnaround three weeks ago and with the worst customer care I've had for a long time I've given them the heave ho.
I'm dreaming of a clean frame (how?), a zinc coat and an electrostatic two part paint. The old rust was superficial and I'm not too bothered about the strange corrosion the looks like worm channels that formed on the surface under the old paint.
Anyone know who can do a good job and/or is local to the North East?
Thanks Andrew

I did mine... sorry to disappoint you, but it was very easy, all I did was put tape (masking) and newspaper around, gave it a light sanding (just to get a "key") and cleaned it off, then sprayed it.... and it look great

Yea if you use a gel, you can paint it on (on most you can spray over it once dry... so no prep after) but sand it first anyway to get a smooth surface, then put the gel on with a fine brush (less drag marks from the brush then) use a very fine grade of wet&dry to key the work aria, IF you like I can show you picks of mine and how it turned out (looks like new)
