Had a Husky on my 101, replaced it with a Warn 8274 and also had a Superwinch EP9 on the back.

The Husky has a good reputation, but its slow, and loses much of its input power to frictional losses in the worm and wheel drive. Reliable but to be honest, crap compared other units. The 8274 was overpriced and is not that good - fast but that's about it.

Having used all three in anger, MANY times the best of the bunch was the Superwinch EP9 - brilliant little winch, underrated and cheap to buy. I could have had 3 for the price of the 8274. I think they are discontinued but now and were actually made by ComeUp - have a google for them. But a 9000lb ComeUp or Superwinch Talon and you won't go far wrong.

You can upgrade a husky motor easily, would take a worm drive over planetary anyway

planetary better gearing ratio and stronger more points of contact for the torque. worm gear just at 1 point very little contact. Think unimog axles at the spindle. which is stronger mog. or land rover

yes but on planetary winches you have brakes that overheat, the mog winches use worm drive, garwoods etc

plus you don't get worm drive axles unless you buy for custom applications

I'd take paypal but I dunno I probably could if I found time but its really heavy!

Ok mate, might be able to get it picked up like, dont suppose you have a bumper to go with it? I can send cash with my courier ( mate of mine ) or can paypal it, whichever suits best?

Yeah if you let me know by text. or a call in the evening

My 8274 has a superwinch ep9 motor, more bhp and faster and pulls more, also draws less amps than the warn,

I have a warn xd9000 sat in my shed that I was gone fit in the rear as I took it off the front, just don't know if its worth having 2 winches
