iv got a cheap 12000lb on mine, does the trick just slowly.

Same as the one iv just bought. They are made in the same factory as champion or warrior winches. Few of my friends have them and they seem to work well. Only downside is the solenoid box is the older style which isn't sealed so it doesn't like a soaking, seal it up or relocate it and your good to go.

I haven't committed to one just yet, as just doing my research first, plus still saving some pennies just in case my up coming MOT isn't 'smooth running'....

Doesn't bother me if it is or not. I know its a cheap winch which will have a short lifespan and I can't justify a decent winch for what I use it for.
Clearly as with a lot of things you get what you pay for but as far as a budget winch I'm happy with it and a few of my friends have the same or similar winches which all do the job.
