OK, just took delivery of my new winch - now i have to fit it and stop Chavs / pikeys from half-inching it ...... Security bolts ?

I was thinking of ArmaCap heads, or the NoGo head covers ? maybe just weld some channel over the heads underneath ?

or tack the bolts in place with a blob of weld so they can't be undone without a chisel and lots of noise.

.......if ya tack a HT bolt, it'll reduce the tensile strength of the bolt head - i'd rather not risk it and have ma new toy come flying out tha bumper .....

I've never yanked a winch off a truck yet and I run em at massive loads. We had a spate of winches being nicked so all our winches are tacked on.

Tack it is then. just not had much luck with HT bolts of late.

one of the guys from my old club had his pikyed a few years back while we were out on a weekend jaunt. NOT impressed

Nowt safe nowadays! havin to weld stuff on ya motor!

I remember the days when you didn't even ave to lock the doors

A tack of weld is about as good as it gets, also if you use allen headed bolts you can tap a ball bearing in , just means welding a nut over it to get it back off.
