What happens if you put the winch into free spool?
 
Well after trying different ways my way is still good as the winch won't go in to free spool under tension so it's jammed down now until you release the pressure then you can put it in free spool
 
That's good, have you got an isolation switch on the winch, as a paper clip in the remote socket can be used to operate the winch.
I think its called gift wrapping when winch cable is taken over the roof to rear cross member and operated.
If you have a welder can you not just put a tack on a couple of the mounting bolts, and the bumper bolts?

hey mate dont have a welder thats why am messing about with it making it safe and yes winch has an isolator on bonnet next to snorkel and key is kept on my keys :)
