Will the receiver aerial pick up signal if it's mounted under the bonnet ?

I've fitted the solenoid pack to the inner wing and the wires to the receiver are only short, don't want to extend them if there's no need.

I know the obvious answer is " try it " but winch isn't fitted yet ,rain stopped play, ( don't like welding in the garage too much stuff about ) so thought I'd do the wiring.

Cant see why not, i've used mine from 20+ foot away, only reason i put mine inside (and high up) is in my opinion the less electrical (sealed or not) that can get wet the better, if you're planning on doing alot of off road put it inside, if not, i wouldnt worry about it
