Hi all

So managed to get myself set on saturday morning, calmly got my winch remote
And started to lay it out and the cable jammed solid with about 10 ft of wire out

Got the landy out with a shovel and lots of swearing, saved walking back for a tractor. Got some insa turbo extremes coming so hopefully they will be better than the general grabber at2 that are on it so hopefully wont get set as much.

Managed to get the cable unjammed yesterday, it kept spooling out lots of free cable.

Turns out the wire is no longer attached to the winch eylet still on end of cable

Winch also sounds a bit dry

So 2 questions

Is there an approved way of attaching the winch cable to the winch, have looked but cant see anywhere obvious

Feel i should use the oppotunity to service or grease the winch up, which bits should i take apart and clean etc

Winch is a warn 8000

the winch cable will attach to the drum with a crimped terminal end on the wire rope and fixed with a screw

Mine has a crimp on the goes on like little hook on the side of the drum n the bottom layer

Cheers for the advise guys, looks like there is a bolt sheared on side of drum, also looks like winch has got a crack in it. Going to take it off and give it some tlc
