I'm thinking of fitting a winch bumper to my disco 1 but have a problem! At the moment I have an A bar fitted(in my avatar) with 2 spots in as the standard headlights are no brighter than candles! Obviously I cant mount this A bar back on a winch bumper.

I already have a light bar on the roof but don't use it too often as it just reflects off the bonnet and gives me a bad glare! I have seen tubular bumpers with A bars on but I really don't like them. The only bumper I have seen that I like is for a disco 2 and i'm not sure the lights would be bright enough either - Extreme 4x4 Ltd DISCOVERY 2 WINCH BUMPER WITH LIGHTS

Does anybody know of something similar to this for the disco 1?

Any help would be appreciated

Hi, i have the britpart winch bumper on mine and was looking
for an A bar but couldent get one, something about pedestrian
safety:blabla:

I mounted my spots either side of the winch tray, have to say
very happy with the positioning and light output.

Sorry about the pic, its the only one i have at the moment, if you want
a shot of it clean il post one tomorrow.

Thanks for that. It did cross my mind to do that but just thought they looked a bit lost! Ive also looked into the bonnet light pod but think they look naff on a disco! Any more thoughts......

Scubasteve1974 - I like them, I too have the same winch bumper as you (Britpart) how did you actually mount the spots on, did you just drill a hole downwards as their not very wide these bumpers? Also what size spots are they?

mine has a built in abar with spotlight mounts but i havent mounted any lights on it yet

I thought they would look lost aswell, but they dont look bad front on.
As for mounting just drilled straight down, their 7" diamiter, not sure
what make.

Matt black to your bonnet will cut the glare. Bonnet pod will add more lights than you have lower down or as you see here, mount the lights either side of the winch.

Looks good. I have that bumper. Thought about adding spots to it like yours but I use my bumper for nudging and obviously I couldn't do it with spots on it.

Out of interest, where did you get those recovery swivels from? I need some but don't fancy spending £30+ on what is just a bit of metal.

I think there britpart aswell, they cost me €40 but they are very strong.
They have bein use for a few snatch recoverys and no problem, and
they do take the bare look of the bumper.
