Dear NHW and Parish Councils,
During the early hours of today, Wednesday 26/01/11, a traffic unit came
behind a blue Landrover registration H892 JFC on the A342 in Rowde,
which had been reported stolen from an address in Calne. This vehicle
failed to stop and a subsequent pursuit took place in and around
Salisbury Plain. Unfortunately when on the Plain the vehicle was lost
out of sight.
It is believed that this vehicle and it's occupants are linked to a
further report of a stolen vehicle which occurred in Marston at
0230hours today- this vehicle, a green Cherokee Jeep, registration P905
RHR, had been left insecure however was taken from the address in little
under two minutes suggesting the offenders had knowledge of the vehicle
and location.
Although at this stage we can not evidentially link any suspects we are
focusing on two known males and believe these males are responsible for
the following:
On the 22/01/11 a blue Mitsubishi Shogun registration WJ03 VJX was
stolen from a rural address in Potterne.
On the 23/01/11 a spare set of van keys were stolen from a van in Saxon
Close, Market Lavington. The keys were the only items stolen.
On the 23/01/11 a further two vehicles were stolen from Easterton, again
from a rural address, the vehicles being a Mitsubishi X-Trail Sport
registration A003 LBY and a white transit van converted into a recovery
vehicle, registration R889 MDF.
We are also linking these two males to four rural burglaries in and
around Marlborough.
This recent crime trend is being treated with great priority and to
assist us we ask that you spread the word as best you can amongst our
rural villages to keep vehicles LOCKED and SECURED. Please be vigilant
for any suspicious vehicles and report vehicle details back to us either
by e-mail or phone.
Both males are white, aged in their early twenties, have short cropped
dark hair, medium build. As well as the listed vehicles above they may
also be linked to/using a Black Landrover 110 Defender and a Red Peugeot
406 registration W271 PRV.
