Hi Im wondering if the viscous fan from a 300 Tdi fit my 95 V8i Disco?
Or I might fit two 12inch fans with switch. But if I can put the viscous on for now that would do me till I've saved up.

There are two types of viscous fan for the V8 and a single one for the Tdi all have different part numbers so for that reason I would say no.

cheers could You give me the part number please as one has a 32mm nut and the other has a 36mm nut. If I can find which was on the range rover classic, then its the other number I require regards Steve

I just put a 200TDi viscous fan on me V8 and it screwed straight on.
I swapped it because the V8 fan is bigger and very noisey in a mornin, the 200TDi one is smaller and quieter. Left the Disco without a fan.:)

what year was your V8?
And did it have Air-con?
Regards Steve

I think that's what the difference is. Mine is a 95 3.9 with air-con so it has the serpentine belt. The early 3.9 had a different water pump too.
Pity you havn't got a spare fan just to try it, I had the choice of three, V8, 200tdi and 2.5td, they were all the same thread just different size and pitch on blades.
Pity you weren't a bit nearer..

The viscous coupling only is ETC1260 thats for the 11 plade fan, and ERR3443 is for the 7 blade fan, both to fit V8 EFI.

Its ERR3443 for the serpentine belt which has a M30 1.5mm fitting on the water pump.
Well I had a good look and anyone wanting one, here is where I've found the cheapest aftermarket one. I've had a change of mind and going to fit a electric fan now. Thanks for all the help regards

Just had to send back a new Viscous unit which apparently was for 'All 3.5efi', but ended up was too big for the water pump (ERR3443). Have now ordered the ERC1260 with the smaller nose. Bearmach gave a guide to help.
