Yeah right - makes you wonder how Richards stay in business dunt it

I figure it works like this:

Pay a few hundred extra now and never have to touch it again and all the components and panels fit first time, more or less - bonus!

or

Save a few hundred now and have to rebuild it again in 10 to 15 years at the same cost as last time + inflation and have to practically hand fabricate everything as nothing lines up - not such a good looking saving any more is it?

But hey - everyone is different I suppose.

Longest I've ever owned a vehicle is 4 years so not really an issue for me I suppose if your planning to hang on to a vehicle that long it's worth going the whole hog. bUt even with a richards or marshland chassis and a new bulkhead it's still less than £1600. Hardly thousands is it. Unless you replace everything else at the same time. I know you can spend tens of thousands if you want. but you can do it for a lot less and still have a perfectly servicable landy.

****ing pedantic little prick.

Oi! Recognise this? Looks like it takes one to know one eh?

To anyone else, 'in the thousands' means more than a thousand quid...

Now you tell me which is going to cost more and take longer - a chassis and bulkhead swap or bolting a few goodies like chequer plate and a few bits of bent galv to protect steering and diffs and to raise the clearance a couple of inches?

Then have another look at the point I was making re - buying a 2nd hand Land Rover.

I mean - what is it? You got a dodgy motor yer trying to shift so you need to convince people it's ok to buy one with a shot chassis and a crappy bulkhead?

FFS HEIDI!

Hi Mark
Would you ever consider an SIII, my sister has one with 70(ish)k on the clock in great condition up for grabs.
Think she's looking for 1400 quid but you may be able to knock her down.
