Will black Diesel or Bio ruin the cat on a 300tdi with an ECU and will this upset the ECU.

Or should one steer clear of alternative fuels with a delicate cat and ECU 300tdi.

Thanks:)

it's not a cat as such more of a soot trap, I've run my 300TDI auto on svo with no problems at all so i wouldn't think you'd have any trouble

Is the CAT linked to the ECU with a sensor as on cars or is it just a box.:)

nope it's just a box best thing to do is get a de-cat front pipe and throw the thing in the scrap.
it'll run better and give a bit more power too

Thanks I'll tell me mate then, he's worried about upsetting his cat.
Mines ok as it's an early one with no electrickery and I can use owt that burns:D

The CAT will be doing sod all now, unless you recently changed it. I wouldn't bother about the CAT, take it out put in a straight through, as said above they restrict flow as they are a soot trap.

Being an ECU version doesn't make this engine any less suitable for oil VO mixes.
