Hi Lads,

will a P38 4.6 HSE gearbox fit a P38 DSE?? i came across one for the right money and wondering what percent of the car is donerable??

According to RAVE, they are different.

thats what i was thinking. but its no harm to check, what percent do you think the parts are the same? i was thinking maybe 60% ?? engine and running gear are pretty much out the window!!!

Axles should be the same at a guess, BECM might be reprogramable, the rest ought to be useable. Alternator, starter and RAD are also different as is the aircon compressor.

Can she afford the fuel?

Stoopid question, she will be just like mine - I have to fuel both Landrovers :doh:

she does **** all driving, we drive to work together we work together and live together. but yeah know what you mean....!

there is definatly some differences between the 2 gearboxes

ashcrofts fit some of the bits from the 4.6 box a ZF4HP24 into the ZF4HP22 as some of the drivetrain components inside the box are stronger

the gearbox dfroma 4.0 & a DSE are the same

not sure re the torque convertors
