My front prop is knackered, and because my Landy originally had a 6cyl lump in, a genuine replacement is not cheap (£150+).

The 6cyl front prop measures a whisker under 70cm (69.4 cm). According to post 15 on this thread:

How long is yours? - International Forum - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum

the front prop for a Defender 200tdi comes in at 68.5 cm. This looks to be part no FRC8390, which perhaps coupled with a 10mm spacer might be quite a lot cheaper as a solution.

Any thoughts on whether this will work?

Is it the UJ thats gone? Might be cheaper just to rebuild the prop if so

For reference, the answer is yes.

I've just fitted a TD5 rear prop to the front of my series, as it's a match in length for the 6cyl front prop. The flanges are identical.
